Last December, Pantone announced not one but two Colours of the Year for 2021. Known as Ultimate Gray and Illuminating (a yellow shade), the colour institute believes they are “a message of strength and hopefulness”. Who doesn’t need that after the last year? Creating trends, “as designers rush to make sure their collections reflect this year’s choices", we’re highlighting key pieces within our collection that combine our sustainable values with on-trend fashion-forward styling.
Stunning Scarves
Our scarves are made from 100% Moso bamboo viscose. You can discover more about this wonderful environmentally friendly fabric in one of our recent blogs. They’re ultra-soft – reminiscent of cashmere – so feel wonderful draped around your neck. Decadent yet breathable, their fabric composition means that you can wear them in all seasons. Perfect for embracing these stylish colours of the year this season and beyond.
Our top picks would have to include our Yellow bamboo scarf for its sunny appearance, and the grey Greek key scarf with red and black details. Having been featured in GQ men’s magazine, we’d like to point out that their classic fringing, intricate detailing and unisex appeal mean they’re equally suitable for women.
Styling Socks
As we discussed recently, a person’s socks make a style statement. Yet, our socks do this and more. Made from 75% Moso bamboo – they’re sustainable and strong; meaning you can replace them less frequently. This saves you money and helps to cut down on throwaway disposable fashion seen with less robust socks. Clothes Aid states that 350,000 tonnes or £140 million worth of clothing that could still be worn/used enter the UK landfill each year. Clearly, this has to change.
We’re loving the retro grey athletic socks for a cool ‘not tried too hard’ look. Equally, our no-show socks with a non-slip heel and arch grip are ideal for wearing with trainers. Find yours in men's and women’s sizes. Feeling bold? Our yellow bumblebee ribbed socks are worth a look. Then there’s pin-sharp spotted grey and navy bamboo socks that will take you to the office and beyond.
Wanting to bring sustainable values to more and more people, we have a limited offer for savvy shoppers. Add 5 pairs of socks to your cart and receive the 6th one free (using code B5G1F). We’d encourage you to shop for yours while stocks last.
Bold Boxers
Crafted from 95% Moso bamboo viscose and 5% elastane, our sustainable boxers will ensure that everything you wear meets the latest colour trends. Delivering the ultimate bulk-free fit, we believe they’re the highest quality, longest-lasting and sustainable bamboo boxers ever made. Current Pantone-friendly styles include grey boxers with a mint band, a classic black pair with a mid-grey band or the dynamic navy boxers with a yellow band. Whichever colour combo you choose, you’ll benefit from the creativity of our small UK-based design team.
Antibacterial, sustainable and strong fibres add durability to these everyday items. As with our eco-conscious socks and scarves, you’ll never have to sacrifice comfort for your values either. The softly elasticated jacquard waistband and no-chafe design deliver on comfort, whilst the breathable bamboo viscose blend regulates your temperature and feels smooth against your skin.
Bright Belts
Another easy way to sustainably follow the Pantone Colours of the Year is our yellow zigzag woven belt. Our wide-ranging collection of belt designs have one thing in common … they each repurpose the equivalent of 7 plastic bottles. As the first company to harness REPREVE®, buying from our elasticated and super fitting woven belt range allows Ocean Generation to prevent even more plastic from polluting our oceans. How can you help achieve this? Well, we proudly donate 5% of the profits of each belt purchased to this NGO.
We believe that you can be stylish and sustainable when you buy scarves, socks, boxers or belts from our Swole Panda collection. Meeting the needs of those who follow this year’s Pantone trends, you’ll also be amazed at the wider scope of colours we offer customers. Go on … view the entire range here.
